The
Society was founded in 1970 by a small group
of local enthusiasts who had been regularly
attending geology courses in Farnham, Surrey
arranged by the Council for Extra-Mural
Studies (University of London) and administered
by the Workers Educational Association (WEA).
The aim of the Society is to promote interest
in geology and its allied sciences for people
of all levels of geological knowledge, ranging
from the interested amateur up to professional
geologist

Formed
in 1984 by David and Gillian Victor-Smith,
FYC has expanded over the years to encompass
four choirs.
Farnham Youth Choir comprises about fifty
young people aged around 10 to 18.
Farnham Junior Girls’ Choir, led by
Catherine Watts comprises about fifty girls
aged nine and above.
Farnham Junior Boys’ Choir, formed
in 1998, comprises about twenty boys aged
8 upwards.
Training Choir - comprises about thirteen
children aged seven and above
